“We’re on a mission to contaminate and emancipate YOU this summer”
– Larry Love, Alabama 3
From renowned national and international festivals like Glastonbury, T In The Park, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, Latitude, Electric Picnic and Oxegen, to important homegrown independent festivals like as Beautiful Days, Strummer of Love, and Rockness – Alabama 3 never miss an opportunity to gather their followers.
The monstrous presence that reverberates from this huge nine piece outfit, (along with the right set of strobes), offers a crowd everything they expect from their festival experience. With massive anthems like ‘Woke Up This Morning’ (The Sopranos), ‘Mao Tse Tung Says’, ‘Hello I’m Johnny Cash’, and ‘Ain’t Goin’ To Goa’ weaved through a selection of new up-tempo material, this is a band that can send any tent crazy, or a main stage mad!
The esteemed Rev D. Wayne Love comically leads his unholy army through his Rock-Gospel-Acid-Punk pageant, with the help of his hotshot cowboy sidekick Larry Love (vocals), and the feisty Aurora Dawn (vocals). They are accompanied by the bluesey bank robber melodies of Harpo Strangelove (harmonica), the slick Delta riffs of Rockfree Bass (guitar), the pounding rhythms of L.B. Dope (drums), the eerie scales of The Spirit of Love (piano), the seedy basslines of Lovepipe Finnerty (guitar), all mixed live on stage by their very own producer Wizard.
As an acoustic outfit (Larry, Harpo, Auroura and Rockfree), Alabama 3 have also toured international festivals around the world – from Byron Blues (AUS) to SXSW (USA), this stripped back take on Alabama 3 is foot stomping crowd pleaser, guaranteed to cure any soul of their midnight blues!
Now dust off your shades and help us get those people back to church. It’s time to do a little hellraisin’ this summer…
