Single Info:

Fluke return with their second release of a new era, a single entitled Real Magnificent. It comes with a main mix featuring the vocals of Jon Fugler & Leah Clever, a slightly more clubby ‘All Buttons In’ mix from the band, and 2 x remixes from rising star sLEdger.
 
Real Magnificent is a reflection on the Belle Epoque of the late 80’s / Early 90’s where anything and everything was possible. The music, the clubs, the fashion, the design, everything was hand made with a love and naivety that was of the moment. Unscripted, unapologetic and unadulterated…until it wasn’t. A thing of pure joy that will live forever !
Remix duties fall to up and coming DJ/Producer sLEdger (Robin Dallison) who is carving out his own little niche somewhere between deep electronic, indie dance and balearic music.
sLEdger has released under various disguises, on labels like Tici Taci, Pegdoll, and Global Underground gaining support from people like Annie Nightingale & Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 1, Laurent Garnier, Nick Warren, Ashley Beedle , John Digweed, Bushwacka, Maceo Plex etc… sLEdger’s recent release  ‘Popper’ was hailed as one of the tunes of 2024 at Sean Jonston’s legendary ALFOS club night. sLEdger has also DJ’d at seminal UK clubs like Back To Basics and Turnmills.
sLEdgers remix is a low slung, epic monster which really captures the theme of the original, that of a beautiful time in one’s life coming to an end.
 
Flukes History:
 
Rewind: Fluke’s first mark was back in the early 90’s through their acclaimed white labels Thumper, Joni and Philly which led to them signing with Alan McGee’s Creation label and the release of The Techno Rose of Blighty. After performing two BBC Radio 1 sessions with John Peel they then joined the Circa label, released four further albums, Six Wheels on my Wagon, Oto, Risotto and Progressive History X followed by Puppy, released through One Little Indian records.
Enjoying chart successes with their own material, they also remixed artists such as The Rolling Stones, Bjork, Yello, New Order, Tears for Fears, Smashing Pumpkins ,Talk Talk, Pop Will Eat Itself and more…During this period their music was also heavily licensed for TV and featured in films such as The Matrix, Tomb Raider, Behind Enemy lines, Batman, Sin City, The Saint and various games such as Need For Speed, Wipeout, and FiFa…
Real Magnificent marks Fluke’s second release linked to a project provisionally named Firebird with various tracks and collaborations over the coming months.
